In this tutorial you will learn about different techniques for finding joint venture partners. The standard approach is to use the Google Keyword tool and start there.
Another approach is to use Copernic Agent to do your searching. The program comes in 3 versions, Free, Professional and Corporate. Fortunately, the free version has all the power we need. To get started, click on Search: New. In the dialog box, type in the word “Pie Baking. Below that are several search options, including All the words, any of the words or the exact phrase. Choose all the words and in the pop-up, set it to “The Web.”
As the search is running, many web sites come up and are displayed, with the most relevant ones coming up first. Hovering your mouse over any listing gives you more information about the site. To find out more, you will need to visit the site. To do so, hover your mouse over the URL and right-click. A pop-up window will appear. Choose the heading “Open in New Document.” This will open your browser, which is Internet Explorer on my computer.
After that, you need to go to Alexa.com This is a site which gives you valuable information about a web site’s traffic, backlinks and more. To see how this works, you need to download the Alexa toolbar and install it. (The toolbar works better in Internet Explorer; it doesn’t work as well in Firefox.)Once you do, it’s time to access Copernic again. Note that while it is OK to search for the primary keyword, it will not be enough to find joint venture partners. For that, you need to go deeper by adding words to the primary keyword. Some examples are ezines, newsletters and blogs.
o jump start things, I’ve already done a search using the keyword phrase “pie baking blogs,” which brought up quite a few results. The one that caught my interest was a site by the name of Allrecipes.com, so I decided to have a look at it in Alexa. When you look at the top of the browser window you’ll see a small box with a number in it. This is the Alexa ranking. In this case, the number is quite small, meaning that the site has a good ranking. This is the opposite of what you might expect, but the larger the number, the worse the ranking. In reality, to find good joint ventures, you want a ranking of 300,000 or less.
This number that we have is great information, but we need more, so I’ll click on the number, which takes us to the Alexa web site. Now we can see more information about the site, including its traffic rank, keywords and more. What we’re looking for are indicators that would make this site a good joint venture partner. Another thing to look at are the backlinks, which shows you which sites link to this one. Occasionally, some of these backlinks could translate into joint venture partners.
Moving around the Alexa site will give you even more information. A good thing to check would be the Search Analytics tab. This gives you High Impact Search Queries and you will see more information about what is popular on the web site. This is important because when you write your introductory JV letter, you will have some idea of what to say.
The last thing is to make sure you have all the contact info for this site for writing your queries later. When saving this information, I recommend using one of two methods. The first is if you have Acrobat installed on your computer. Use the Print to PDF file option and save all these pages as PDF’s in a folder. The second option is to use an image capturing program such as SnagIt, to capture the information, so you can refer to it at a later date. This is all information you’ll need for your joint ventures. More is explained in the chapter on Joint ventures, as well as what you need to know when sending out JV requests.

Are you new to freelance writing? If your career’s not booming, you’re stumbling into pitfalls: there are more writing jobs around than writers willing to accept them. Buyers of writing are desperate for competent writers.
My own writing career spans three decades, and I’m hugely envious of writers just starting out today, because of the immense opportunities now available. There are so many that I wish I could clone myself. If you’re not aware of what marvelous opportunities there are, chances are you falling into one of the traps which beset writers.
One common mistake is waiting until you’re hired in order to write. Many new freelancers idly wait for jobs to come to them. You’re a writer, so write.
Imagine an Olympian who didn’t bother to practice until the Games began. They can’t develop athletic prowess instantly; it takes years. Neither can you call on your creativity at will without writing regularly.
I write every day, and so do all writers who have more clients and writing jobs than they can handle. This is because writing is a muscle. If you don’t use it, it atrophies. When you do use it, you find new ways to use it.
It’s important not to be shy with your clients and those you’d like to approach for work. Once you’ve done a project for someone, suggest another one to them. Follow up on every single query you send.
Even experienced writers make mistakes, one of the biggest is to continue to write on spec, without any money from the client. That’s just setting yourself up to be taken advantage of. You’ll never get the money you deserve and you’ll be so angry about it, you won’t have any creativity left.
For new writers, a huge pitfall is expecting high payments immediately. If you’re a new writer, completing jobs is more important than how much you’re paid. At this stage in your career, you have no standards of comparison. You’re new to writing, so expect to spend some time paying your dues.
Are you sensing a theme here? Here’s something I’ve found of be true of every writer I’ve known: writing problems are solved by writing. All of them, without exception. In order to write well, you have to write enough. If you write 2000 words and the article commission is for 800 words, there’s a good chance that 800 of those 2000 words will be better than if you just wrote 800 words.
Word counting aside, writing is a muscle, and creativity is a flow. If you’re not writing enough, you’re not building your muscles, and you’ve choked off your creativity.

Web writing is very simple. All you need to keep in mind is to write the way you talk. However, there are several rules to keep in mind as you do so, so that your content will be found.
My own web writing career began when the web was new. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed writing content more than writing anything else. The reason is: instant feedback. There’s an art to getting your content firstly found, then read — and then to get readers to take action. Here are some tips which will help you.
1. Keep it simple. Why use a long word when a short word means exactly the same thing? Why take three lines to explain something when you can do it in one?
2. Get attention with the headline. Take a look at the headline for this article. You kept reading because you wanted to be sure you were providing the best service for your client, didn’t you?
3. Make your text easy to read. Web readers tend to scan text rather than study it closely. Using such techniques as bullets, subheads and other means breaks up the text and helps the reader to find what he or she needs quickly and easily.
4. Get to the point. Remember your reader does not necessarily know you and may even be from a different country or culture. Therefore, he or she may not get your joke or the reference to that ancient TV show. You’re better off just stating your point and moving on. If you need to explain an acronym, do so.
5. Always check your work several times before posting it on the web. Use a spellchecker, yes, but also read your work several times yourself, preferably after you’ve set it aside for several hours. Have someone else read it too. You can never proofread too often.
6. Use keywords correctly. While keywords are important for search engines to sort web content, don’t stuff your content with keywords in order to get better rankings.
Your clients will clamor for your web writing services when you follow these rules when you create their content.

Freelance writing can be your ticket to making money on your own terms. Set your own hours and your own wages and get away from the stress of the 9-to-5 work life. In this article you’ll find some ideas to help you get started.
I’ve been writing as a freelance writer for over 30 years. Once you get into the swing of it, and have a stable of clients, you can make more income than you could make working for someone else. Many of my clients have been with me for years, because once they find a good writer, they are very loyal.
Possibly the easiest way to get started is to write for an online article bank. Write a short article about something that interests you and submit it to the bank of your choice, along with a bio box that tells the world about your writing skills and interests. When the article gets used on a website, people will learn what you have to offer and hire you to write their content. Some article banks will also pay you a small amount whenever your article is used.
Don’t know what to write about? Don’t worry. Most article banks have a list of topics to get your creative juices flowing. Write about what you know and you can establish yourself as an expert in a subject and people who need articles about that subject will pay you a lot of money.
Another fun way to get started as a freelancer is to start a blog. Again, you can write about whatever you like. Most people think about blogs as mere online diaries; however you can also earn money from blogs, especially by promoting other people’s products. A single blog post is only about 200 words (less than half a page) so you can make a lot of money by creating many blogs on many different subjects.
Once you have your own blogs established, you will easily be able to convince companies to let you create blogs for them on a variety of subjects.
By writing articles and blogs to start, you can quickly and easily build up a portfolio of your published work. You can show your portfolio to companies, whether online or in your own city and state, and offer to create similar work for them. This will save the company’s time and resources and improve their bottom line. For that reason, they will be willing to pay you well for your contribution.
If you’ve dreamed of being your own boss, freelance writing is the way to go. Escape the rat race, be your own boss, and start writing today.

If you’d like to make money writing, it’s easier than it’s ever been. There are hundreds of thousands of websites online eager to hire you today. You can set up your own full-time career quickly.
When I say the process I’ll share with you is easy, I mean it. Please don’t get hung up on your lack of experience. You can get experience fast: all you need to do is follow the process.
I sold my first freelance writing efforts in the early 1980s. In those days, you weren’t paid to learn: you served your apprenticeship and learned, before you started to sell.
Nowadays, you earn as you learn. Every business online needs content, so you get paid to practice.
Let’s look at a simple process which starts your freelance career.
1. Set up a personal blog at any one of the free blogging services online, and start to write — you can choose any topic you please. The idea of blogging is that it accustoms you to others reading your words.
As you write your own blog, read other bloggers. Although many professional writers blog, most bloggers are amateur writers. Anything they can do, you can do. This will build your confidence.
2. Comment on others’ blogs. Make your comments interesting and perceptive: spend some time on it. The idea here is to make contacts and get to know other bloggers.
Next, approach bloggers and ask whether you could write a guest post. Writing for other bloggers, although you’re writing for free, builds your confidence. It also gets you known.
3. Got confidence? By now, you should be feeling good about your abilities, so offer your blogging services for small payments. You’ll get clients fast.
I know these initial writing jobs are for tiny pay, but be aware that you’re making much more than money. You’re learning how to sell your words, and you’re also getting a reputation. People talk to others, and before you know it, you’ll have more clients, and will be charging more.
I hope the above process sounds simple to you. That’s because it is. However, be aware that it’s also powerful, and if you follow it, you will soon have a highly profitable freelance writing career.

One of the easiest and most straightforward ways to create income online today is definitely done through writing. Online writing for passive income is not only the most effective way to create passive income today, but it is also the best way to create long lasting sources of income as well.
Writing is usually considered the best way to create passive sources of income online, because web content is in very high demand. If you can supply valuable web content to Internet users today, you can greatly increase the probability that you will develop passive income online.
Once you create your content you just simply need to monetize the content in order to generate large amounts of profits from passive income sources. Before you get started monetizing your website though, you should know how to properly format your writing in order to help your writing get discovered by search engines today.
The easiest way to generate valuable content is by finding subjects that many people are already searching for online today. If there are already a large amount of people searching for the subject you are writing about, you can be certain that there is a large market for your writing.
It is much easier to make money from articles that discuss topics that are in high demand than it is to attempt to make money from niche articles that discuss topics that are not in high demand. So, in order to prepare for your monetization step, you should definitely make sure that you write about subjects that are highly sought after in the online world right now.
Once you have chosen the subject you want to work with, and you have written your articles, you are ready to begin the monetization process. Monetizing your articles is actually the easiest part to making money from article writing. Once you are ready to make money from your article writing, all you need to do is place ads around the articles you have created. Pay per click advertisements are usually the easiest advertisements to use when you wish to monetize writing online today.
Once you have created your content, you simply need to place the content on websites and surround the content with pay per click advertisements. This can be a great way to generate a passive income stream from your writing skills.
Another way you can use online writing for passive income is by attaching advertisements to the articles you create. Once you create articles, simply insert an advertisement into the article, then submit your article to many article directories around the Internet. This can be a great way to not only expand the horizons of your writing, but you can also reach thousands of people by distributing your articles to article directories.

Thanks to the latest economic crunch, most people want to know what the cause of freelance work becoming popular is. Truthfully, freelance work has always been around. Most people never really referred to it as that, they just considered someone who was a freelance worker to be self employed.
Many people hold a traditional view of what exactly work is. They believe you should get up walk out your door go somewhere fill in a time sheet or punch a clock collect a paycheck and be happy for the stability of the routine. However, this latest global financial crunch has been a wakeup call to many people who have come to rely on this sort of outlook.
If a job is lost, there is an immediate need to replenish the income that no longer is there. They need to put food on the table and to keep a roof over their head and their family. If a family is involved this can be quite a task.
A way that people have made a second income is by moon lighting, doing simple tasks in exchange for cash. Most of the time moon lighting type jobs are only good for a few extra dollars, however, with a plan and some effort moon lighting can actually become a primary source of income.
This is where becoming a freelance worker comes into play. If you have any type of skill someone will pay you to use, it is very easy to become a freelance worker. By doing calculations you can easily figure out exactly how you can reach any income goals that you may have.
Here’s a quick example. We’ll say that George wants to become a freelance grass cutter. George can pretty easily ascertain how long it will take him to mow a lawn of a particular size. Let’s say that he knows a rather tiny yard, one that measures only about one hundred square yards, would take him thirty minutes to cut. He can charge someone $15 for doing this job. He can then calculate if he mows grass for eight hours per day he could cut six hundred square yards in that amount of time and his income would be $90 per day. Say George only wants to work five days a week that would be a nice income of $450 per week.
It’s always smart business to keep receipts for tax purposes. There are other ways which Jack can earn even more money by cutting grass; he could work longer days, he could schedule the jobs closer to each other so he can be more productive in one day, or he could take on more jobs temporarily until he has hit some sort of necessary financial goal.
Obviously, you will have to keep receipts and records so you can prove your expenses. Any time as a freelance worker you want to increase your income, you can always raise your rates so long as you don’t make yourself too high compared to your competition. You can also work longer hours to increase income without raising rates; you can also take on more people as clients for a short amount of time until you reach a particular financial goal. The answer to the question of why freelance work is becoming more popular because people realize there is no such thing as job security and if they have a marketable skill or are willing to do a job someone else will pay to have done, it can actually lead to a very lucrative income which can be fit into your family schedule instead of fitting your family time around work.

Writing courses are fairly easy to find either online or off but how do you decide which one will be best for you?
Like with anything that you will ever choose to buy, you need to make sure that the product will provide the training and information that you want in a form that you will benefit from.
Many people need structure when they attempt to tackle a new subject and learn. If you find you do better in a classroom setting, you may benefit more from an offline classroom based writing course.
You probably will want to research exactly what types of courses are available and what is required of you to take them. If you are brand new, you wouldn’t want to take an intermediate or advanced course. If there are certain aspects to your writing that you would like to improve than you should try and tailor your courses that most coincide with what your goals are. By being able to pick and choose only courses that you need, you will be able to save yourself a lot of time and more importantly a lot of money, just be sure that you don’t presume you know too much and don’t take courses that you would have truly benefited from.
Doing some research into the background and qualifications of your teachers is always a good idea. You should also try and get the opinions of students who have already taken some courses or who are currently taking courses. Class size is another factor you should consider. Having a large class isn’t terrible, but it just means that you won’t get as much personal time with the instructor as you would in a smaller class.
You should also know before you take teh course what type of text books or training materials you will be required to purchase, or if they are provided to you; also, you will want to know if the work you turn in will actually be evaluated and feedback given or if it will just be turned in and get a checkmark for being done.
If you are going to study at home by correspondence course or an internet delivered course (much more popular and flexible) you still need to find out if the course will cover the subjects you need and you still need to be able to find some information about the teachers. Quite often these courses will provide a mini-biography of the teachers and details of their qualifications and achievements. It should also be relatively easy to get testimonials from past students about how well the course worked for them.
After you’ve decided on the writing course that you are going to take you must be prepared to put the work and effort into the course. Not only do you have to make sure you have enough time set aside to take the lessons, but you will need additional time to do your practice work. You will find that it will take some repetition of the material to know the lessons well enough to move on to the next section of the course. It’s important that you don’t rush too much just to get to the next module if you haven’t mastered the last yet. Taking a writing course at home is probably the easiest way to do it, because it is so flexible.

The mark of a great book writing class is one that will help you to write a great book but not make the joins conspicuous to your readers. You shouldn’t be surprised to learn that not all classes are going to be exactly the same as each other.
The very first thing that you should be aware of is that not all classes are the same. Books come in varieties and it is important that you know the sort of book you want to produce before you decide on a class to go to. There is no point at all in going to a class about writing fiction if you want to learn how to write autobiographies. Some aspects will be the same, research, for example, but you cannot apply the same process of writing to these two types of books.
Most people thinking about writing a book are thinking about writing fiction. While it is possible to simply sit down and make up a story based in a made up location, there are aspects of writing a book that can make the process more logical, easier and faster.
For most authors, the first thing about a new book is the plot. They decide what is going to happen, how it is going to happen, where it is going to happen and when it is going to happen. Within the plot they will add or develop sub plots. Learning how to create a credible plot and sub plots is very important because these are the foundations upon which the book is built.
The location can often be an important part of the early book planning as well. If a real location is used for the setting of the book, it is possible that some of the plot or sub plots will need to be changed in order to fit in with the location. A real advantage of an actual location is that it can be visited and the real possibilities and limitations worked out on the ground, so to speak. A real location also enables continuity to be maintained by ensuring that, for example, what is a steep track for the characters in one scene does not become a footpath in another.
Character development becomes a little easier when an author uses a real location because they can base the characters loosely on the actual people who live and work in that place or people who happen to catch their attention. Character development is a very important aspect to writing a book that must be done well to have a successful book.
As well as teaching you how to build your plot, find your location and create your characters, a good book writing class will show you how to build the story on the plot, within the location and using your characters. At the same time it will teach you how to get your readers involved with the characters – maybe even identify with them. It will teach you how to build suspense and how to introduce unexpected twists to keep your story moving forward.
Being able to keep your story moving and using plot twists are also assets to any fiction book author.
