Make Money Web Writing: Blogging For Fast Income

Posted by Angela Booth on July 4, 2010

Want to make money Web writing? Try blogging. You’ll make a fast, and ever-increasing income. However, you do need to go about it in the right way. If you do, as your traffic increases, so will your profits. In this article you’ll discover two great secrets which lead to almost instant results.

I’ve been blogging for a decade, both for myself, and for my clients. Although blogging is straightforward, I’ve learned from my students that it’s easy to get confused when you’re inexperienced. Until I nudge them gently onto the right path, my students get caught up in the minutiae of creating a blog, and six months later still haven’t made any money.

Here are the two basic strategies you must keep in mind to turn each blog you create into an income stream.

1. Create a blog for a single purpose. Write down what you want your blog to achieve. If you have too many goals, your visitors will get frustrated and leave. Or they’ll click around your posts, but will never take the actions you want them to take.

What do you want to achieve with your blog? Are you selling a service, for example? If so, every post must be directly relevant to that. If you want to achieve something else: perhaps you also want to promote a product, then just create a new blog.

2. Pitch and promote your blog. The more you advertise and promote, the more traffic you’ll get. It’s essential to use as many different forms of promotion as you can.

People trust their friends’ recommendations. Do you have social media accounts at sites like Twitter? Find out where your customers hang out, and interact with them, linking to your blog in the process. This is free.

Pay Per Click is also effective in kick-starting traffic to a new blog.

As soon as you’ve created a couple of posts, begin a link-building campaign, and keep up with them. Links will push your blog up in the search engine rankings, bringing you ever-increasing traffic. Assess your competition’s link strategies, and beat them.

In some areas, where the competition is less intense (in your local area) you won’t need too many links to shine.

The Web writing tricks I’ve show you: creating a single purpose blog and publicizing it, lead to blogging success. Use them and you’ll be amazed at the results.
